SUPERIOR Ratings for the
2012 SAGA Yearbook!
The SAGA yearbook recently received critiques for the 2012 yearbook from the Georgia Scholastic Press Association and the Southern Interscholastic Press Association. The GSPA and SIPA each gave us a Superior rating. This is the highest rating the GSPA has in their first round of competition. Our book will now go on to compete with other Superior books across the state for the GSPA's General Excellence Award, given in the spring. Both the GSPA and SIPA lauded our coverage of students and faculty, which is always one of our top priorities, so it was nice to be validated for this. These organizations critique hundreds and thousands of books from all across the state and region every year. Their positive recognition is something the SAGA staff works hard every year to receive, so we are very pleased to obtain high honors from them again this year. SUPERIOR Rating for the 2011 SAGA!
The 2011 SAGA yearbook has received an overall Superior rating from the Southern Interscholastic Press Association. As we did in previous years, we received several All-Southern ratings (their highest) for individual categories and some very encouraging compliments in the comments section of the evaluation.
We also received a Silver Medalist rating from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association and a Second Place rating from the National Scholastic Press Association. These two organizations evaluate hundreds, if not thousands, of books from all over the country, and the recognition from them proves we are keeping up with our peers across the nation. The next step is to surpass them, and with the staff we have this year, I am confident that will happen.
